X eBit 2017

The Department of Computer Science, Christ University organizes the project exhibition, X-eBit every year. It gives an opportunity to the postgraduate students to exhibit their academic project work. The  project work includes computer programming knowledge, Advanced Data Base Management System (ADBMS) and Project Management System concepts.  X-eBit 2017, organized on 2nd March 2017, witnessed an overwhelming and enthusiastic participation from the students of 4th semester Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and 2nd semester M Sc Computer Science (CS).


The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Surendra Kulkarni, Dean of Sciences, Christ University. In his speech, he explained the importance of Computer Architecture projects and implementation for finding suitable solution to the social issues.


More than fifty students of MCA and M Sc CS with high spirit of competition and enthusiasm participated in the exhibition. 12 project implementations in the areas of Computer Architecture and 6 project implementations in the areas of Advanced Data Base Management System were showcased. Some interesting projects included a Smart Measurement System, Fire Extinguisher Robot, Automated Pollution Detection System, Smart Stick for Blind People, Obstacle Detection System for Railways, Wi-Fi Controlled Rover, Connexion, Real Estate Management, Petrol Pump Management System and Jiyo-Online Doctors.


The projects have been demonstrated in specially arranged stalls in the Central campus of Christ University and it was open for visit and evaluation from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. Many faculty members and students from Christ University and other colleges visited the stalls and appreciated the work done by students.
The competition was judged by a panel of industry experts Mr. Lijo Joseph, Mr. Ashwin Babu and Ms. Cinny Savitri. They are working with Trivium eSolutions Private Limited, Bengaluru as Software engineers. The projects were appreciated by judges for their effort and transforming their ideas into real time projects.


Finally cash prizes along with certificates were distributed to the winners for their effective project demonstration and participation certificates were distributed to the remaining students for their competitive effort. The software project development is one of the important task in their curriculum,  X-eBit gives a platform to showcase their project skills and make them industry ready graduates in near future.
